[one hundred and forty-seven]

Right, here we are. The final day of 2019. And the final day of the 2010s decade.

In the previous post, I said that I'm going to make an announcement on the final day of 2019.

This announcement's going to be long, so I really hope you can bear with it.

Here goes...

I'm taking an indefinite hiatus from blogging.

OK, I know this is a very abrupt moment to suddenly announce this, but I have taken so much consideration into making this decision. It was hard, but I have to do it. There are several reasons that made me have to take this decision. I'm just going to point out several of the main ones:

1. There are lots of things I want to do, but I want to set my priorities.

I used to be called as this dude who is such an over-achiever. Anything other people do, I also want to try to do. This ended up making me confused on what things I am supposed to do.

I have been struggling with the problem to clear out my manga collection. But it would be bad for the manga to be let go just like that without me reading it first. That has been the thing that kept my manga collection growing up in my room like mushrooms. I simply just have no time to read because I have a lot of things to do.

Thus, to make up for it, I had to list out the things that I want to focus in 2020, and putting the others to rest first so that I can settle the main things first. On 2020, I decided to focus more on clearing out my manga backlogs as well as improving on my drawing, in preparation for Inktober 2020. With that being said, my weekly anime watching is also going to be put on hold starting next season. Whatever anime that I'm currently watching will continue as usual. But for the new anime per season, I will only limit them to 3 or less so that I won't waste much time.

This has also caused me to make this hard decision to actually put blogging on hold.

2. Work getting busier.

As I have been appointed a MIE Expert for the 3rd year in a row, things are going to get a lot busier from now on. Plus, it's more challenging when I'm going to teach an examination class (Year 6) for next year, where I'll take on the Maths part. I don't want to repeat the same mistake I did 3 years ago for being too laid back, which costs the students becoming too lax.

Not that I want to pressure my students, it's just that, most students will have no motivation to continue learning and studying unless the teacher makes an effort for it. This is primarily the reason why I was cutting down on anime so much, as I want to make more time to help my students.

3. More rest and leisure time for myself.

The stress from work had cost me my health. I never told you this before, but 5 months ago, I have been diagnosed with hypertension, a.k.a HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. At such a young age of 29, I totally can't believe that I'm already in this phase.

Thus, to help me reduce the risks and hoping to remove it eventually, most of the time I used to watch anime and blogging will instead be used to do relaxing activities such as nightly manga reading and drawing practice, and leisurely activities like walking and jogging at the park. I recently started doing exercises again in early December after leaving it for such a long time, and I'm glad I did. Because on the CF trip, I'm able to keep my stamina maintained, compared to previous ones where I always end up gasping for air after 1-2 kms of walking.

Well, taking a hiatus from blogging doesn't mean that you won't be able to follow any of my updates anymore. You can follow my Instagram at @rurufong to see some of the photos I shared there. I will mostly post about my daily life, as well as some doodles and drawings I do in my spare time. I will mostly be active there, but rarely posting due to work.

Been a blogger for almost 12 years has surely left a deep impact on me personally as a writer. Thanks to blogging, I have been improving on my choice of words, as well as excelling in writing a good story on Inktober 2019. I plan to compile it into a book soon, but I will only do it once I settled clearing my manga backlog. I have to thank Vivi for igniting back my passion to blog for a while, but forgive me that I have to step back again to de-clutter my life. X3

'Till then, praying for the best for everyone, and hope to see you again soon!
